How Many Fish

Too many fish in a tank can cause it to be overcrowded with excess food/waste debris, resulting in stressed fish and an unclean environment.

What do I do for Tropical / Freshwater Fish / Aquariums?
Be sure to not overcrowd your tank; A rule of thumb is: one inch of fish per gallon of tank water; Most important is to allow for adequate surface area (10-12 square inches) per inch of fish; Only start with a few fish when cycling your tank.

What do I do for Goldfish / Goldfish Aquariums / Bowls?
Be sure to not overcrowd your tank; A rule of thumb is: one inch of fish per gallon of tank water; Most important is to allow for adequate surface area (10-12 square inches) per inch of fish; Only start with a few fish when cycling your tank.
