     Starter Fish for Cycling a Tank A new tank needs to be '"cycled'" in order to start the natural biological process. What do I do for Tropical / Freshwater Fish / Aquariums? Start the cycling process with a few, hardy, inexpensive fish such as feeder Goldfish, Mollies, Swordfish, etc. Be sure to also add Start Zyme to tank water which contains millions of beneficial enzymes and bacteria that help jump start an aquarium into '"cycling'" to establish and maintain a healthy biological filter.
