Nitrate/Nitrite Quick Dip® Test Strips
• fish appear stressed • algae grows in aquarium • Test for Nitrite when: • ammonia is present in the water • fish's normal activity slows down • fish stop eating or die without visible symptoms Results in 60 seconds. Test for nitrate when fish seem stressed or algae growth appears. Test for nitrite when ammonia is present in water, and when fish slow down in activity, stop eating or die without visible symptoms. Details: It is important to keep moisture out of the bottle. Dip both pads in aquarium water for one second and remove. DO NOT SHAKE EXCESS WATER FROM STRIP. Hold strip level for 30 seconds. Compare Nitrite (pad nearest dipping hand) to color chart. At 60 seconds compare Nitrate (end pad) to color chart.
